The Rowan County Vikings entered their tilt with the Bath County Wildcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Rowan County blew past Bath County, posting a 69-39 victory on the road. Given Rowan County's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Bath County is ranked 225th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rowan County was led to victory by Dashawn Watson and Colby Wilburn. Watson scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds, while Wilburn scored 23 points. Wilburn is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 15 games he's played. Brayden Mirus was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Rowan County is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Bath County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
Rowan County will head out on the road to face off against Menifee County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bath County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Raceland at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Raceland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Bath County likes a good challenge.
