Ballard were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They put the hurt on Gilbert with a sharp 48-23 victory. That result was just more of the same for Ballard, who also won the last time these teams played.
Ballard started the contest off right with 28 first-half points. Gilbert put up 10, so the score was 28-10 at the half. The Ballard defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match. The game pushed Gilbert down to 1-4 and pulled Ballard up to the reverse at 4-1.
Next week Ballard take on Bondurant-Farrar at 7:30 PM. Each team will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Ballard skips in on three wins and Bondurant-Farrar on four. Gilbert will look to defend their home turf against Carlisle at 4:45 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
