The Nova Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Western Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Nova is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Fort Lauderdale just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Flying L's.
While Nova had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Western took on West Broward on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats' defeat didn't just snap their winning streak: it also ended the team's undefeated season.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Western sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 18-25, 25-19, 19-25, 21-19.
Despite the loss, Western saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayson Ruiz had 18 digs and one assist.
Having lost for the first time this season, Western fell to 18-1. As for Nova, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
Nova couldn't quite get it done against Western when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wildcats' Ian Bristol, who had 26 digs. Now that the Titans know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
