The Countryside Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Mitchell, falling 66-34. Countryside has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Countryside's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amaria Wright, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds, and Kennedy Brooks who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Brooks continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Mitchell found their leader in underclassman Kaylana Little, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Little has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aleyah Hall, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Countryside's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Mitchell, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Countryside will take on the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mitchell, they will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cypress Creek is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
