With a playoff game on the line, the Colleyville Heritage Panthers rose to the challenge on Friday. They snuck past the Eagles with a 38-34 victory. The victory was familiar territory for Colleyville Heritage who now have 11 in a row.
Colleyville Heritage's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Ullrich, who rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Hayden Golden, who gained 147 total yards and three touchdowns.
Despite the defeat, Argyle saw an underclassman step up: Maguire Gasperson rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 159 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Krzysiak, who picked up 109 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Colleyville Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Argyle, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Colleyville Heritage is on the road again on Friday and play against Emerson at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Emerson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Colleyville Heritage likes a good challenge. Argyle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
