Monocacy Valley - Antietam recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Monocacy Valley - Antietam this week, South Hagerstown beat North Hagerstown 34-27. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Rebels.
Williamsport took down Clear Spring 60-19 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jordan Stonebreaker ran for 157 yards during the win.
The Hubs' dynamic duo of Nick Karlen and Austin Stone proved tough for South Hagerstown to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Karlen threw for 113 yards and 1 touchdown and Stone had 49 yards receiving. Isaiah Keyes helped North Hagerstown's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 35 yards.
Stonebreaker was a passing and rushing force as the Wildcats bested the Blazers.
Sinjin Shoop made the biggest impact on defense this week as Williamsport topped Clear Spring. The 5-foot-9 junior nabbed 2 interceptions.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Vince Ahearn's team's Saavon Brown and Colby Byers have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Brown has thrown for 1,125 yards this season, while Byers has 41 catches for 459 yards. Keyes from North Hagerstown leads the league in rushing with 1,394 yards.
The Wildcats led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on John Wilson's team. Stonebreaker ran for 157 yards in the win.
