Video: The Truth About Trinity, Episode 3
There's a surprisingly subdued side to 'Primetime' following a humbling defeat.
He's considered one of the greatest cornerbacks and kick returners in NFL history. He was a Major League center fielder for 12 seasons playing for four teams.
He's now a high school football coach, and NFL analyst and commentator for CBS Sports and the NFL Network.
For more than three decades, Deion Sanders has been front and center on the national sports scene.
Few people know, however, that "Primetime" is also a pretty mean fisherman.
That's revealed in Episode 3 of the MaxPreps five-part feature, "The Truth About Trinity."
A chapter from the MaxPreps Learning from Legends series, the
Trinity Christian (Cedar Hill, Texas) offensive coordinator spends an afternoon fishing with his son
Shedeur Sanders, a freshman starting quarterback on the 2017 team, after a tough loss.
The two exchange barbs, stories and a ‘who can catch more fish" competition while on the family boat.
"Competition is what the Sanders family is all about," Deion says.
On the field, Trinity suffers its first loss of the season, a humiliating 57-21 decision at Brock. The Eagles trailed 43-7 at halftime.
The Truth About Trinity" covers the Dallas-area private school's season-long quest for a Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) state title following a disappointing 4-6 season.
To help with the 2017 transformation, Sanders brought in a handful of former NFL players, including head coach Aveion Cason (Rams, Chiefs, Lions and Cowboys) and defensive coordinator Kevin Mathis (Cowboys, Saints and Falcons).
Episode 3 shows how the Sanders family escapes a humbling loss. The final two episodes reveal the team's utter drive to win a state title.

Deion Sanders and his freshman son Shedeur Sanders enjoy the afternoon fishing.
