AISA AA Region 1 recap November 5, 2013
Edgewood Academy extended the longest winning streak in AISA AA Region 1 this week by beating Ward Military Academy, 57-0. The victory was the 11th in a row for the Wildcats.
Edgewood Academy took down the Fighting Rangers 57-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Taylor Hawthorne threw for 211 yards and 4 touchdowns during the win.
Bobby Carr's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jake Sisson contributed 102 yards. Caleb Sullivan helped Edgewood Academy's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 69 yards.
Sisson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 102 yards on 5 carries as the Wildcats bested Ward Military Academy. Teammate Christian Smith added to the ground attack by rushing for 41 yards.
Edgewood Academy's Hawthorne and Green led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Hawthorne has thrown for 1,514 yards this season, while Green has 35 catches for 670 yards. Springwood's Maurice Fears leads the league in rushing yards with 1,289.
