The Jefferson Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to Martinsburg on the road by a decisive 43-24 margin. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Martinsburg is ranked 21st).
Martinsburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaydance Bradley out in front who scored 13 points along with three blocks. Addyson Strovel was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Jefferson's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Martinsburg, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Jefferson will head out on the road to take on Elkins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Martinsburg, they will take on Woodrow Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodrow Wilson is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
