The Sheldon Huskies will challenge the Edison Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sheldon's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Edison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Sheldon came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Ponderosa by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Huskies have suffered since March 12th.

Micah Kennedy put in work no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sinitalela Heleta made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Edison walked away with it. They came out on top against the Bulldogs on Monday by a score of 9-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since April 7th.
Alicia Leiva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Edison let Lelia Tatupu and Angeleya Miranda run wild. Tatupu went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Miranda went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jamaiya Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Edison is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Sheldon, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-9.
Edison's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Sheldon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Edison, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Sheldon keep running through batters, or will the Vikings buck the trend?
