North Cross will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Fishburne Military at 4:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close contest.
Last Saturday, North Cross were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 22-27 to Norfolk Christian. North Cross's loss came about despite a quality game from sophomore Gabe Zappia, who passed for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Fishburne Military had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were given a punishing 8-62 defeat at the hands of Roanoke Catholic. Fishburne Military were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-62.
