It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ryan had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Aledo Bearcats by a score of 31-21. The win was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ryan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nehemiah Warmate, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Tre'Vaughn Reynolds was another key player, gaining 178 total yards and a touchdown.
Warmate was just one part of a punishing run game: Ryan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aledo only rushed for 39 rushing yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ryan's defense and their four sacks. Kha'Ron Freeman-Wade was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three himself. Those three sacks gave him a new career-high. Another thorn in Aledo's side was Uzziah Warmate, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Although Aledo took the loss, they still got scores from Blake Burdine, Gavin Beard, and Raycine Guillory Jr.
Ryan's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Aledo, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.
Ryan has already played their next matchup, a 24-21 loss against Highland Park on the 13th. Aledo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
