Softball Recap: St. John Paul II Catholic Takes a Loss

St. John Paul II Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 35-16 to the ALA - Anthem South Titans. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Titans from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Brianna Perez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elena Estrada, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

St. John Paul II Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for ALA - Anthem South, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Looking ahead, St. John Paul II Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Trivium Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for ALA - Anthem South, they will head out to take on San Miguel at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. San Miguel has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 22.33 runs per game on average), something ALA - Anthem South will no doubt try to take advantage of.
