The St. Helens Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. Their rough 61-41 loss to Scappoose might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to St. Helens of the 56-34 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Quinton Olson was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with three steals for Scappoose. Brayden Miller was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight assists and two steals.
St. Helens has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Scappoose, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
St. Helens will head out on the road to face off against Tillamook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tillamook is on a six-game streak of home losses, St. Helens a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Scappoose will take on Seaside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seaside will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Scappoose surely won't give up without a fight.
