Everything went their way against the Saint Jo Panthers on Friday as the Chico Dragons made off with a 21-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Addyson Sides was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.
In other batting news, Camdyn Marcus and Camryn Sides did most of the damage at the plate: Marcus got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Camryn went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave Sides a new career-high. Shaylee Crawford was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
