The Seeger Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Vermillion. Seeger was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as South Vermillion apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Seeger still got an impressive performance from Christian Holland, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. The game was Holland's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Winchester, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
South Vermillion was led to victory by Brayson Shoults and Aden Wallace. Shoults dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Wallace scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Luke Bush, who scored 12 points.
Seeger's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for South Vermillion, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Seeger will be playing at home against Southmont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southmont is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for South Vermillion, they will head out on the road to face off against Fountain Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
