The Beachwood Bison will face off against the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Beachwood is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Beachwood blew Orange out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Orange got their revenge. The Bison fell just short of the Lions by a score of 22-20. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (13), the Bison still had to take the loss.
Beachwood got a massive performance out of Amaya Brown, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lily Grover, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.
Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls came up short against Hawken on Tuesday, falling 16-8. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Gina Ponikvar led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season. Megan Shisila was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Beachwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Chagrin Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Beachwood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Chagrin Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .557. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
