This season hasn't been kind to the Fort Campbell Falcons, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They fell 44-36 to Frederick Fraize on Saturday. Fort Campbell lost against Frederick Fraize in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 47-12 score last time.
Fort Campbell's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Newingham, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rosella Rajj, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Even though they lost, Fort Campbell were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Fort Campbell's loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.9 points per game. As for Frederick Fraize, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Campbell will take on Community Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Community Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Frederick Fraize, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hancock County at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th.
