After a string of five wins, Mount Vernon Presbyterian's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They took a hard 19-34 fall against Wesleyan. Mount Vernon Presbyterian's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Austin Douglas, who rushed for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns. That makes it three straight good games in a row from Douglas.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Our Lady of Mercy, and their contest two weeks ago only extended their streak of losses to seven. They were completely outmatched, falling 3-77 to Eagle's Landing Christian Academy. Our Lady of Mercy were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-63.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. With five turnovers, Mount Vernon Presbyterian had trouble holding onto the ball. We'll see if Our Lady of Mercy exploit that vulnerability.
