Montgomery Catholic is 4-0 against Booker T. Washington since October of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Montgomery Catholic Knights are on the road again and play against the Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Montgomery Catholic: 5.6, Booker T. Washington: 17.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Montgomery Catholic walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 44-20 margin over the Golden Eagles. Considering Montgomery Catholic has won 11 contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Caleb Mccreary was his usual excellent self, rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 136 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Griffin, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington waltzed into Friday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Jackson out 20-17.
Elijah Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 127 yards, while also throwing for 188 yards and two touchdowns.
Booker T. Washington's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Jackson's QB won't forget Jai Uhuru anytime soon given Uhuru sacked him three times.
Their wins bumped Montgomery Catholic to 13-0 and Jacksonville to 10-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Montgomery Catholic has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 288 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Booker T. Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 230.5 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches. Everything came up roses for Montgomery Catholic against Booker T. Washington in their previous meeting back in September as the team secured a 56-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montgomery Catholic since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
