AAAA Region 3B recap September 24, 2013
Academy of Richmond County was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to first in AAAA Region 3B. The Musketeers vanquished Glenn Hills 6-0 earlier in the week.
Academy of Richmond County and the Spartans played the closest game in the league this week, with Academy of Richmond County eventually emerging with a 6-0 victory. Travis Beatty ran for 137 yards during the win.
On the heels of Tony Daggett and Beatty, Chris Hughes' team has had great success on offense. Daggett is tops in the league in passing with 173 yards, while Beatty has rushed for 406 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Hephzibah's Darrell Baker, with 110 yards on 4 catches.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Burke County takes on Cross Creek. The Bears are currently in fourth, while the Razorbacks are in third.
The Rebels made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,146 from 13,061. The improvement came about via a 30-6 victory over Hephzibah last week.
