The Covenant Eagles will head out to take on the Fishburne Military Caissons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Covenant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
The Covenant is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering North Cross just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0.

The Covenant saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Latham Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one stolen base. Clark has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fishburne Military, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Eastern Mennonite with a sharp 11-4 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Caissons' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Cooper Ezersky made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Benjamin Gilroy was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Devin Charles also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Fishburne Military's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7. As for The Covenant, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. The Covenant has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fishburne Military struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
The Covenant took their victory against Fishburne Military in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
