Penns Manor had lost five games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 6-2 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Northern Cambria Colts with a sharp 13-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Comets needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Allie Rhea made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 4.2 innings pitched. Rhea was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kadence Olbert, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Joss Bennet, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Penns Manor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Cambria only posted an OBP of .167.
As for Northern Cambria, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-8. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but Penns Manor's pitcher proved too tough.

Lubert is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

As for Northern Cambria, they will square off against Conemaugh Township at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
