Mitchell Labrado Turns in Season-Best Effort
Sadly, Mitchell Labrado posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Laguna Creek over Elk Grove on Friday. Labrado threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. His passing game has become a key predictor of Laguna Creek's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

Pleasant Grove was led to victory by Jacob Beals, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Beals picked up 162 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Pleasant Grove's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
Franklin had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Beals it was a similar story. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Beals saw the Wildcats), he rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns.

Jaeden Haselrig posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He picked up 55 receiving yards, and also rushed for 54 yards on only seven carries.
