Two dominant signal callers in Angelo Renda and Braeden Imhoff are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Southlake Carroll Dragons will be playing at home against the Prosper Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Southlake Carroll is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat San Angelo Central 72-7. The victory was just business as usual for the Dragons, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Southlake Carroll got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Gunter out in front who picked up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. Another pass catcher making a difference was Brock Boyd, who picked up 139 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southlake Carroll was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 359 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Southlake Carroll didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brody Bourgeois, Robbie Ladd, and Parker Harris picked up one apiece. Ladd has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last seven times he's played. Southlake Carroll got some further help from Austin Bussmann: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles.
Meanwhile, Prosper got the win against Berkner on Friday by a conclusive 50-24. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Rams are ranked 195th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Prosper had a senior duo take command as Lathon Latiolais gained 102 total yards and Bryce Robinson rushed for 96 yards and one score.
Southlake Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Prosper, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Everything came up roses for Southlake Carroll against Prosper in their previous meeting back in September of 2021, as the team secured a 31-0 victory. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
