The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers will head out on the road to square off against Emmanuel Christian Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Pilgrim Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

The Pilgrim Academy is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Gloucester County Christian on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pilgrim Academy was dealt a 50-21 loss at the hands of Gloucester County Christian. The Pioneers were down 34-11 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The losing side was boosted by Isabella Cosme, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Brittin, who scored 13 points.

Even though they lost, The Pilgrim Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Emmanuel Christian Academy against Torrington Christian Academy two weeks ago as the team secured a 48-13 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Emmanuel Christian Academy.

The Pilgrim Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

The Pilgrim Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Emmanuel Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory.
