Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Academy Comes Up Short

Patrick Henry Academy lost against Calhoun Academy last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Patriots might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Cavaliers an easy 71-47 victory. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Defeat or not, Patrick Henry Academy got some senior leadership from Daivon Glover and Tray Adkins. Glover went 6-for-15 on his way to 16 points, while Adkins almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. The contest was Glover's sixth in a row with at least 16 points.

Calhoun Academy was led to victory by Nick Lindsay and Colt Layton. Lindsay shot 67% from the field to rack up 30 points and eight boards, while Layton dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 assists. Layton continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Crews Felder, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Patrick Henry Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Calhoun Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.
