After eight games on the road, Seaforth is heading back home. They will take on the Southeast Alamance Stallions at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seaforth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Southeast Alamance likes a good challenge.
Seaforth stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 63-15 win over Graham. Given Seaforth's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Graham is ranked 501st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seaforth's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Gabby White, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals, and Peyton Collins, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five steals. White has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Ballard, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Southeast Alamance waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 43-33 victory over Northwood.
Southeast Alamance got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Inysia McIver out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Clara LaChapelle was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Seaforth's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Southeast Alamance, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Seaforth have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Southeast Alamance struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.4 rebounds per game.
