Newton Falls proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Brookfield Warriors. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Cameron Huff made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Wyatt Wheeler was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Bracin Clutter also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
