Softball Recap: Northern Extends Winning Streak to Three

Northern won the last time they faced Patuxent and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Patriots blew past the Panthers 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Izzie Helwig was excellent, going 1-for-2 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Brooke MacAulay was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Northern's third in a row) raised their record to 9-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Patuxent, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Northern has already played their next contest, a 15-2 victory against North Point on the 25th. As for Patuxent, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Great Mills on the 25th.
