Even though the McFarland Cougars scored an imposing 70 points on Thursday, the Lemoore Tigers still came out on top. Lemoore narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past McFarland 73-70.
Lemoore had a senior duo take command as Kaden Lopes scored 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Kobe Green scored 19 points along with six assists and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Lopes has scored at least 25% of Lemoore's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Mora, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Lemoore is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for McFarland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Selma the next time they take the court. Lemoore will head out to face Selma at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while McFarland will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
