The Pasquotank County Panthers lost against the Albemarle School Colts back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Pasquotank County was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Albemarle School. Pasquotank County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Pasquotank County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anylah Bowe. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 blocks. Trinity Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 steals.
Albemarle School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madelyn Delosreyes led the charge by scoring 7 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. Delosreyes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Lane, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Pasquotank County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Albemarle School, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pasquotank County will take on Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Albemarle School, they will head out on the road to face off against Ocracoke at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Ocracoke is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
