While Cheraw's victory against North Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cheraw Braves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the North Central Knights on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Braves as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sam Phillips and Robert Dew scored both of Cheraw's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Cheraw's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-3. As for North Central, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheraw will host Lake City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Central, they will be playing at home against Buford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
