A well-balanced attack led the Wando Warriors over the Stratford Knights in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Wando blew Stratford out of the water with a 64-32 final score. Wando pushed the score to 47-23 by the end of the third, a deficit Stratford had little chance of recovering from.
Mya Andrus went supernova for Wando, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andrus has scored all season. Makenna Reynolds was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sydnie Stepney, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Ciara Mustapher, who scored nine points along with three blocks and two steals.
Wando pushed their record up to 13-12 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Stratford, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.
Wando will look to defend their home court on Friday against Goose Creek at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Goose Creek is ranked 56th, while Wando is ranked 61st). As for Stratford, they will head out on the road to challenge Berkeley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Berkeley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Friday.
