After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Swenson Arts & Tech, the Parkway Northwest Hoyas were happy to have found some success on Monday. They took down KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy 67-48. Given Parkway Northwest's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy is ranked 690th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Parkway Northwest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaicir Isaac, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Isaac scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Devin Caufield, who scored 14 points.
Haile Johnson and Mekhi Anderson certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Johnson scored 12 points along with six steals, while Anderson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sayid Cooley, who scored 11 points.
Parkway Northwest pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
