Island Coast's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Miami Beach Hi-Tides a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Gators have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Island Coast got a great performance from Bobby Wilenius as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Wilenius has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Hawkins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Brandon Tuduri was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Island Coast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Island Coast's record now sits at 14-5. As for Miami Beach, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Island Coast will head out to take on Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Island Coast is facing Port Charlotte at the right time seeing as Port Charlotte is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Miami Beach, they are taking a road trip to face off against Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canterbury's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Miami Beach's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
