Basketball Recap: Humble Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake Houston HomeSchool, Humble Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Banff Bears as the Humble Christian Cougars made off with a 38-13 win. The team ran away with 30 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Leading Humble Christian to victory were Lilly McMullen and Deriyah Williams. McMullen dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Williams posted eight points and three steals. What's more, McMullen also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Alyssa Vera was another key player, putting up five points.

Humble Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

With the win, Humble Christian broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10. As for Banff, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Humble Christian will face off against Cornerstone Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Humble Christian: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Cornerstone Christian Academy has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. Banff has already played their next matchup (against Shady Acres Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
