Basketball Recap: Clinton Christian Comes Up Short

Clinton Christian was the 50-33 winner over Community Baptist Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Clinton Christian Couriers were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 51-50 to the Community Baptist Christian Cougars. The Couriers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Clinton Christian lost, don't look at Anthony Snyder. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 15 en route to 17 points and five boards. Snyder has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Ethan Ramer was another key player, going 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Community Baptist Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Titus Clifton, who went 6 for 10 en route to 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Clifton a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Maller, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points.

Clinton Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Community Baptist Christian, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Clinton Christian has already played their next game, a 37-34 win against Hamilton on the 28th. As for Community Baptist Christian, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Community Baptist Christian Cougars face off against the Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on February 6th.
