Even though the Benzie Central Huskies have not done well against the Glen Lake Lakers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Benzie Central walked away with a 60-51 win over Glen Lake. The win was nothing new for Benzie Central as they're now sitting on six straight.
Several Lakers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Plamondon, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Benji Allen, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Benzie Central's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Glen Lake, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benzie Central will take on Bay City Western at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Glen Lake, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Buckley at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Buckley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 368th, while Glen Lake is ranked 167th).
