The Valor Preparatory Academy Owls scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 86-32 victory over Apprentice Academy on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-18.
Bishop Witherspoon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points. Witherspoon is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Darrell Caldwell was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Valor Preparatory Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for Apprentice Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valor Preparatory Academy will face off against Queen's Grant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apprentice Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Carolina International at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Carolina International presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Apprentice Academy in North Carolina (Carolina International is ranked 241st, while Apprentice Academy is ranked 669th).
