Liberty is 1-9 against Basic since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Liberty Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Basic Wolves at 3:30 p.m. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Liberty's tournament run continued when they took on Bishop Moore on Thursday. Everything went Liberty's way against Bishop Moore as Liberty made off with a 12-6 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Liberty let Jaydrien Klein-Baker and Austin Rodriguez run wild. Klein-Baker went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run. The dominant performance gave Rodriguez a new career-high in RBI. Chris Onoszko was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Basic is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Orange Lutheran. Basic took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Orange Lutheran. The contest marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Tate Southisene made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. Ace Sapp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
With the loss, Basic broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Both Liberty and Basic just can't seem to miss. Liberty has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Basic struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
