The Castle View Sabercats will square off against the Eaglecrest Raptors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Castle View will bounce into Saturday's matchup after beating Legend, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Sabercats had just enough and edged out the Titans 9-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sabercats.

Keyan Lundvall was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Gabriel Grandy looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
Back at the plate, Derek Gordon was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Samuel Harry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Eaglecrest can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northfield, sneaking past 6-5.
Blake Anderson was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Eaglecrest's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 2-1 (and 9-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Holmes, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Castle View's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Eaglecrest, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Castle View hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Eaglecrest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Castle View was able to grind out a solid win over Eaglecrest in their previous matchup back in March of 2019, winning 5-0. Do the Sabercats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raptors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
