The GEO Next Generation Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Indiana Math & Science Academy North Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
GEO Next Generation suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They took a serious blow against Elwood, falling 59-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points GEO Next Generation has scored all season.
Indiana Math & Science Academy North lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Horizon Christian on the road and fell 87-53. While losing is never fun, Indiana Math & Science Academy North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Horizon Christian is ranked 180th).
Despite the loss, Indiana Math & Science Academy North got a solid performance out of Jasaum Sowell, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Oliver, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
GEO Next Generation now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Indiana Math & Science Academy North, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
GEO Next Generation and Indiana Math & Science Academy North were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2020, but GEO Next Generation came up empty-handed after a 75-74 defeat. Can GEO Next Generation avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
