West Davidson has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the South Davidson Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
West Davidson pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 77-55 walloping at the hands of North Rowan. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Davidson in their matchups with North Rowan: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, South Davidson was beaten by East Davidson 75-37 on Friday. South Davidson was down 58-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Kayra Hulin put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 64.9% of South Davidson's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
West Davidson's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13. As for South Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.
Everything came up roses for West Davidson against South Davidson when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 55-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Davidson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
