Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Steele Knights walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over the Mavericks. The victory was familiar territory for Steele who now have ten in a row.
Samuel Harris went supernova for Steele, rushing for 267 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 16.7 yards per carry. Harris was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Chad Warner, who rushed for nine yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, McNeil still got an impressive performance from Joshua Williams, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Steele's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for McNeil, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Steele will take on Harlan at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Harlan is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. McNeil does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
