The Redlands East Valley Wildcats's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They strolled past Murrieta Mesa with points to spare, taking the game 74-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jeremiah Ivens was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with 9 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Redlands East Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Cristian Escobar, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds.
Redlands East Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Murrieta Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Redlands East Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against La Quinta at 6:45 p.m. on December 7th. La Quinta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 892nd, while Redlands East Valley is ranked 338th). As for Murrieta Mesa, they will be playing at home against Rancho Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho Verde is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
