Fort Collins has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Horizon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Fort Collins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Mountain Range for the full four quarters, racking up a 86-22 victory at home. Fort Collins has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Collins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Paige Fry, who scored 14 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fry has scored all season. Avery Alcaraz was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Horizon entered their tilt with the Lobos with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Horizon walked away with a 72-63 victory over the Lobos on Saturday.
Horizon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lindie Holland out in front who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyn Kassatly, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Fort Collins pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Horizon, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Fort Collins and the Hawks are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Fort Collins hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 58.9 points per game. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 57.1 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Fort Collins couldn't quite finish off the Hawks in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 51-49. Can Fort Collins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
