On Tuesday, the Chandler Wolves faced the Eastmark Firebirds in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Chandler snuck past Eastmark with a 57-52 win. Chandler's victory was all the more impressive since Eastmark was averaging only 24.38 points allowed on the season.
Averi Mehlberg continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with 3 steals. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesminda Garcia, who scored 12 points.
The win for Chandler keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Eastmark, their loss dropped their record down to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chandler will take on Cibola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cibola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 last Tuesday. As for Eastmark, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th.
