Baseball Recap: Murphysboro Comes Up Short

Murphysboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-8 to the Waterloo Bulldogs. Even though they lost, the Red Devils' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Murphysboro saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reece Mileur, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. Another was Gage Taylor, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Murphysboro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murphysboro will head out to square off against Anna-Jonesboro at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waterloo, they will take on O'Fallon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
