Genesee extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 20-5 in the process. Everything went their way against the Clearwater Valley Rams as they made off with a 16-5 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 16 matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kendra Meyer made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Genesee got a massive performance out of Kaylee Krick, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Krick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makayla Herman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Genesee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
As for Clearwater Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10. They haven't had much luck with Genesee recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
On Clearwater Valley's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Schuster, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Jesse Rice was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
